All the disabled parking spots were taken, which is unusual here.
After some bike riding ,'football' and a train ride at the park we enjoyed some games in the sunny garden at home.
Later on I sneaked off to Soil Hill while Sue dropped the girls at Sowerby Bridge and Heckmondwike.
Not a lot of birds seen at Shibden Park in the short stroll I had while the train journey took place.
A Blackcap and a Chiffchaff were heard singing but I did not eyeball either.
15:50 - 17:30
Soil Hill etc.
The usual species hereabouts.
Stock Dove, Kestrel, Curlew, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Oystercatcher, Lapwing, Pied Wagtail, 3 Swallow.
Herring Gull.
A nice surprise was spotting a distant Wheatear near the Ordnance Column on Soil Hill Top.
Pair of Little Owl.
A very fast moving UNID.
Didn't know if it was a Raptor or maybe a Racing Pigeon - but is was moving fast.
Seems to have a black tail tip? Possible Peregrine?
The lack of Wheatear is a bit of a mystery?
I wonder if the very strong easterly winds in the previous weeks has had a bearing on the sighting of Yellowhammer in our area?
Fast moving Unid
Cropped and lightened bit but still very poor!
My money;s on Peregrine.
