Hebden Bridge to Salterhebble

13:30 - 17:00

A long walk along the canal (mostly) from Hebden Bridge through Sowerby Bridge  to Salterhebble lock.

A very hot day made it hard going.
A bus to Halifax and the reliable 576 service to Roper Lane bottom, to walk home completed the day out.

Birds:

Swifts heard overhead at Hebden, but not seen.

Nothing out of the ordinary again today I'm afraid.
Many, may Canada Geese with Goslings in tow.
Grey Wagtail, 3 Heron.
(14:45 Luddenden Foot).
2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush, Grey Wagtail nesting in a wall.
3 Swift (seen).
Great Spotted Woodpecker called once.
(15:45 Sowerby Bridge).
Swifts heard not seen.
Heron, singing Blackcap.
17:00 Salterhebble - a butty by the canal!
17:45 Roper Lane.
18:35 Home.

I stood looking at these 2 interesting holes but noting entered or exited them
