Bradshaw - Ogden - Denholme - Ned Hill Track etc

14:40 - 17:00

An enjoyable hike this afternoon.
A shower or three to start but just bits of drizzle blown along on a strong breeze after that.

The path joining Back Lane, Ogden to Foreside Lane, Denholme is impassable at one point with a huge bog to contend with.

The walk from Denholme via Keighley Road to Coal Lane reminded me of a friend of mine's cigarettes in the 1960's - Peter Stuyvesant - A long drag.

Overall though, some good exercise.

Birds:-

Little Owl.

Ogden:

c130 Gulls on Ogden.
10 Cormorants.
Little Grebe.

Elsewhere:

9 Kestrel seen in all.
2 Brown Hare.
A Snipe flushed as I attempted to cross the bog.
4 Curlew.
3 Whinchat - a real treat.

A few large Gulls, One with very light plumage.

Juv. Woodpigeon?

  4. Hi Dave
    Very scarce this year.
Autumn should be good following the great hot summer.
