10:30 - 12:30
A couple of hours stroll down Coach Road and back this morning.
A cold day today.
The usual birds were here - I was hoping for a drumming Woodpecker (a small one) but it was more like Jim Reeves without "Distant Drums".
I did get my first Green Woodpecker of the year though, as one flew overhead, early on in the walk, from the railway line trees over the top of the golf course.
c30 Redwing left the trees early on in the walk as well.
Not a lot moving down the dark bridleway:-
Nuthatch, Long Tailed Tit, Coal Tit. Rook.
Loads of Goldfinch,Blue and Great Tit.
Jay, a good few Mistle Thrush.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker called nearby, but it remained hidden.
2 Bullfinch.
Just 2 Brambling seen near the Sefton Ave. trees.
Horton Bank Top Park.
An hour or so here today.
My first time here and it was a bit disappointing.
c100 Black Headed Gull, 6 or so Common Gull,
Moorhen, Coot, 7 Mute Swan (inc 5 juv).
3 Canada Geese, Heron,Mistle Thrush.
Not a lot else
