Raggalds Flood

We had Abigail and Emma to entertain today and no Shibden Park due to the awful weather.

During a 'fashion show' interlude at home,I jumped into the car and dove up to The Raggalds.

I was hoping to catch up with B.S.'s earlier Snipe.
The bird could well still be here, but I could no locate it in the atrocious weather.

Hopefully the plentiful water supply will bring some more birds in - always worth a look here!

My Raggalds arrival coincided with a great big heavy shower and the wind neatly took the car door off.
A bit of a mistake with the short walk from Roper Lane top to the flood getting me drenched through and it was difficult to keep the camera dry.

Nothing obvious as I got there then 3 Common Gulls arrived.
One had some morsel of food and was dropping it from height into the water.

I believe all 3 Gulls are Common Gulls but one looked on the large side, difficult to be certain, and not the weather to stop and stare.

A pair of Mallard were on the water, just visible through the gung.

I soon high-tailed it home to dry out.
A tremendous amount of water has fallen evidenced by the flooding on the roads as I drove past Ogden and a small river running down Syke Lane.

I'd missed the fashion show - oh dear!

A few, distant, blurry, Gull pictures for your 'entertainment'.
