Swalesmoor - Ringby Top and Hag Lane Circular

11:35 - 13:10

An enjoyable birding walk around the Swalesmoor area today.
Cool in the breeze, very warm in shelter and dry throughout.
The pong was bearable as well!

I was hoping for Yellow Wag. but no joy today.

Ringby Top area:

Birds:

Many, many Corvids as usual here.
A Kestrel appeared, immediately mobbed by Corvids.
A second Raptor soon appeared, very high, a Peregrine Falcon which soon left towards Shibden.
Happy to get a half decent picture of it in flight for a change.

A few Pied Wagtail, 30 plus Meadow Pipit.
Groups of Linnet flitting about throughout 20 plus.
A Skylark left a field and burbled as it flew low.

A few groups of Starling - 15 ish.

Few Gulls here today - 1 Black Headed Gull and 1 Herring Gull overhead - none on the building roofs.

2 big brown Bulls , one in the fields on either side of the track, looked content.
Then one began to roar at the other across my path - time to get a clog on!

Hag Lane Circular:

13:15 - 14:15.

This is a lovely walk and always promises me more than it delivers - or is it my eyesight.

A cracking Green Woodpecker flushed from a field near the path to disappear into nearby trees.

Jay, c10 Linnet, Kestrel.
