Lots of Pinkies reported over Calderdale but we never saw any in our bit of sky.
We went along field paths to Ned Hill, then Syke Lane, Ogden Lane and along the forever climbing Back Lane.
Back Lane eventually reaches a watershed as it passes way to the left of Oxenhope Reservoir (TMR).
A welcome downhill stretch passing high to the left of Leeming Reservoir and down to past Back Leeming (where Snowdrops were in bloom) and on past Oxenhope Co-op.
Arriving at Oxenhope Station our path does a quick right/left to follow the stream, more or less, all the way to Haworth..... and The HILL! up to the Villette Café.
A sunny to start to the hike, but disappointedly cloudy soon after Ogden, untill above Leeming.
A very muddy slog from Leeming to Haworth.
Birds:
Not much time to hang about today and only a small camera.
An early dilemma of a possible calling Curlew along Back Lane - just 1 call and I did not eyeball it so it remains a maybe.
I fared better with Red Grouse though, with one heard then seen disappearing over a wall, early on, along Back Lane.
There were 7 Red Grouse seen/heard on the moors today.
A pair of Buzzard were over Leeming and the 'inspection gantry' was stacked with small Gulls, but very distant.
2 Partridge Flushed above Leeming.
A couple of Herring Gulls were in the fields.
A Sparrowhawk was seen just as we approached the new 'Skipton Builders' village approaching Haworth.
A Heron was on the stream seen from the Haworth Railway Bridge.
I did take a few photos today but they aint great.
3 buses home( Hebden Bridge, Halifax, Bradshaw) through the Mytholmroyd road works... took a wee while.
Sunny start along Bradshaw Farm Tracks
Looking back to Soil Hill with the mist arriving.
Leeming from the top
