Foreside Lane Area and Ogden to home

A breezy dull day, mostly dry.
This morning and a quick look above Oats Royd, for any Yellowhammers, did not produce results.

This afternoon and a long outing with a walk up Foreside Lane and up Black Edge Lane for a good bit before retracing my steps.
Later a walk from Coal Lane to and around Ogden Water before walking home via Ned Hill Road and Percy Road.

Received a letter of complain from my legs this aft.

Lots of cars and folk at Ogden but the water level has not risen as far as I thought it would with some welcome shoreline, mostly on the west side. The public path being so close to the water most probably deters a good few birds.

Birds:

Tough going.

A bird in flight above Oats Royd that I can't place.
3rd Photo.

Foreside Lane etc:

A super start to the day with a continental looking Stonechat or probably 2 birds.
The first bird flew but I though at the time that I'd picked it up again immediately, but the photos reflect 2 birds?
However light plays such a big part in the way colours are interpreted by the camera I am unsure.

Many Gulls, mega distant, in fields below the TMR Oxenhope reservoir.
Other birds, Pheasant, Meadow Pipits and Skylarks.

Ogden etc:

Whitethroat singing in the plantation near Coal Lane.
Great Crested Grebe.
Great Spotted Woodpecker calling.
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Black Headed Gull.
2 Cormorant.
Mallard.
Canada Geese.
Chiffchaff and a few other woodland sp.

Ned Hill and Percy Road:

Linnets. Kestrel. Swifts. Swallows.

Above Oats Royd:

Probably a Sparrowhawk

Foreside Lane Area:

Come on in , make my day - the grass is real tasty.
