Ringstone Reservoir - Hobby (Lifer)

We had a call to make at Sowerby Bridge this afternoon and called at Ringstone later.
I scoped the water's edge, checking out the distant Black Headed Gulls looking for the Med Gull first located by DF.
Some Gulls were preening, some sleeping, so not easy to see.
I took a lot of photos and after a good look through them at home, this aft, have come up blank.

A 'call of nature' - not easy around here! was rewarded with a Hobby flying overhead as I returned to the reservoir.
This bird is a lifer for me and has been a long time coming.

Birds:-

Hobby.
Little Grebe.
2 Great Crested Grebe.
Reed Bunting.
Common Sandpiper.
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Black Headed Gull.
2 Tufted Duck.
Mallard.
Meadow Pipit.
Lapwing.
Swallow.
Linnet.

Unsure of the ID of this very distant Gull.
Common Gull?
(Definitely not a Med)

  5. Interesting gull, reminds me of Caspian Gull with very long legs but not sure due to poor quality of picture.

  6. Good shout Caspian Gull, Nick.
The bird in the photo, as you say, is too distant to tell.
Thanks for the interest and comment.
