A pleasant stroll this afternoon with the N wind easing and a short glimpse of sunshine.
This is one of my favourite places for a birding walk, very quiet.
Birds:
Raven.
4 Whinchat.
3 cracking Whitethroat.
c50 Meadow Pipit.
c20 Goldfinch.
3 Curlew, high > N.
Wren.
Kestrel.
4 Swallow still entering stables.
Reed Bunting.
Mallard.
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Passing Raggalds flood there was very little water and c20 Gulls.
Lesser Black-backed, Common and Black Headed Gulls.
Hit the jackpot there John, especially the Whinchats. Some pretty good birds there. Nice Whitethroat shot despite the 'bill' - hope it survives.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what Whitethroat feed on - if its seeds it might struggle.
Perhaps bills are like my finger nails, if so it will be back to normal in a week!
