Abi with us for a few days during here 2 week school holiday - I though it was one week but its different in different areas of Yorkshire apparently.
A very wet day with strong winds and bands of rain.
Just managed a quick visit up to the Raggalds to check out the flood - always possible that something special might drop in, in weather like this.
Today it had some juice and 1 Black Headed Gull bathing.
Even the Gull soon left me alone.
Just 3 distant Gulls seen in the fields nearby.
Passing Saville Park this afternoon there were 6 Mistle Thrush feeding on worms, dragged out of the football pitches.
Herring Gull or Common Gull?
Looking at the Bill size and head shape its a
Herring Gull I believe.
I suspected my Herring Gull was a YLG but knowing my Gull ID skills I was hesitant in posting this, with the Gull so distant and the photo poor.
ReplyDeleteA text from NK confirmed my suspicions. Thanks Nigel for your interest. It's always a boost to get some good feedback.
