Soil Hill - Morning and Afternoon

Soil Hill - Morning:

This mornings outing was short lived but I did manage 2 Stonechat and a Red Legged Partridge.
A good scan along the north side bushes revealed.... a Robin.

Garden:

A short sky watch in the garden brought with it a calling Bullfinch that passed overhead.
This takes my garden list to 48.
A Green Woodpecker was kind enough to land in the tree opposite my house, although it did not stay long.
A small flock of smaller birds passed by, but I could not ID 'em.

Soil Hill - Afternoon:

A bit of a longer outing but really tough to find anything here.
Low cloud and mist was hanging over Ogden and it gradually seeped onto Soil Hill, so I went home.

A calling Skein of Pink Footed Geese high to the SE came into view and headed NW towards Fly Flats.
I reckon there were 72 Geese in this one.
A phone call to B.S. to alert him found him at Leeshaw!

Soon after a second Skein moved from SE > NNW.
I reckon there were 131 Geese in this one.
This skein had a better potential for Leeshaw so I texted B.S.

Other than the Geese just a few Mallard and a Moorhen on the lower NK pond.
2 Blackbird, 2 Dunnock, a Robin and a few Gulls was about all.

An exciting moment when I thought I'd got a Tawny Owl in the North side tree line only to find, on closer inspection, that it was the mottled bark of a small tree 'hiding' behind the thick bushes!
