Ogden to Bradshaw

A breezy dullish outing this morning, just a few light showers as I had a look around Rocks Road and Ogden Water before walking home via Syke Lane, Ned Hill Lane and the farm tracks.

I had intended to check out Soil Hill on the way home but as I reached Ned Hill Lane I could se that Soil Hill was enveloped in low cloud.

I think things up there did brighten up a bit during the afternoon before the wind and gales arrived.

Quite busy around Ogden Water, to be expected on Boxing Day, and I seemed to be using the wrong aftershave as each time I eyeballed a bird it seemed to vamoose!

Pick of the Birds:-

Just a Pheasant in a garden nr. Rocks Road.

2 Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Nuthatch.

3 Reed Bunting.

Kingfisher.

Treecreeper.

The usual Black Headed Gull, Common Gull contingency with some Herring Gulls distant in the middle of the reservoir.

A bit disappointing on bird front on the homeward journey with just Gulls and Crow types in the main.

No Little Owl today.

Reed Buntings giving me the cold shoulder
