Soil Hill - a tad grim

A very wet exercise walk this morning up to and around Soil Hill.

I was going to check out Ned Hill Lane and the farm track but the mist came rolling up from the valley, so I went along Percy Rd to look at the Raggalds Flood instead.

Birds at a premium and keeping stuff dry was a nuisance.

Very pleasing to catch up with a Taylor Lane Little Owl and a Stonechat that was showing well, and that I could definitely ID .

Very quiet on Soil Hill with just a Pheasant and a Little Owl calling from way down below the north side fields (not seen).

The mist kyboshed the job really and the wet walk to Raggalds just revealed 2 Lapwing and 12 Black Headed Gull on the partially frozen water.

My outdoor clothing is all but dry ready for some more White co2 tomorrow?

Surely we must soon be in for a drought with everywhere sodden at the moment.

Mist rolling in.
