Bradshaw - Soil Hill - Bradshaw

Abi with us today but I managed to slope off for a while while Sue was trying to get her up and bathed - not easy.

Later, we played football in the park , I was The Great Superendo - goalkeeper (more grate that great).

An enjoyable, if cold, rest followed, sky watching from the garden for a short while.

Birds:

Taylor Lane:

Little Owl, Pheasant.

Soil Hill:

Approaching Soil Hill a skein of c95 Pink Footed Geese flew West.

The hill itself was megga quiet.

Pheasant , Blackbird, Moorhen and a calling Reed Bunting(not seen).

A Fox was crossing the shay fields mobbed by 7 Magpie.

About 20 Magpie seen today.

Elsewhere:

A flock of c20 Pigeon \ Dove were airborne, distant, near Ogden are possibly Stock Doves.

A Green Woodpecker was in a small tree behind the conifers at the Ned Hill chicane.

Usual small birds along by the farm included a Wren and my 2nd Little Owl.

Just a few Common and Herring Gulls seen.

Garden:

A flock of c20 Goldfinch flew past and later on a Buzzard was being mobbed a couple of Crows, way over Oats Royd - manged a picture of one of the Crows!

  1. You must get a Little Owl every day John (and a Green Woody every other day)!!. Look like Stock Doves.

  2. Yeah I think Stock Dove also.
Blessed with Little Owl in Bradshaw.
    They are my 'lifesaver' ..
Green Woody calls near home and oddly enough Ned Hill seems attractive to a pair.
    Waders are my Achilles heel.
