Swalesmoor Area - Ringby Lane / Top and Howcans Bridle Path.

A run out Tuesday afternoon, after a busy domestic morning, to Swalesmoor where the weather improved as the walk progressed, ending quite warm - for up here.

Birds were at a premium on Ring by Lane so I continued along to the end and had a short walk along Howcans.

The usual Crows near the pongy recycling plant.

4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls drifted through in ones.

3 Skylark - one bird that flushed and called once, had a really white rump, probably the white tail sides.

4 Meadow Pipit, 2 Dunnocks.

A Buzzard that came from the west was pushed east out of sight by the constant mobbing of 6 Crows.

A second Buzzard came from the Soil Hill direction and flew leisurely, high, east not seen by the mob.

Possibly a third Buzzard was high overhead a bit later.

Not a lot else here.

Howcans Bridleway.

Howcans bridleway is a real gem of a path for a birding walk.

I just went as far as the first house today.

Lots of Birdsong with Dunnock, Robin, Chaffinch, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit.

A very vocal Song Thrush and a singing Chiffchaff.

This area looks really good for Yellow Hammer.

Elsewhere:

A Peregrine Falcon was seen earlier.

A look for  Ring Ouzel late last evening failed to locate any, however it was almost dark by the time I got out.

Just my banker, Little Owl, here!

Late evening an Osprey turned up - see separate post.
