I avoided Ned Hill and Soil Hill, opting for Ingham Lane and the farm track mostly.
It looks like I am going to have to go further afield to look at some reservoirs in order to move my bird species list along a bit, but Ogden or Mixenden Reservoirs on an Easter Sunday did not seem like a good idea!
My afternoon sky watch was very, very quiet again today with very little moving through, although I have a lot of sky to look at from my garden!
Birds:-
c30 Fieldfare over the house this morning was a pleasing sight.
I had a quick scout about the local fields to see if they had landed nearby but no joy. I did, however, pick up 2 Red Legged Partridge very distant whilst looking for the Fieldfare.
3 Swallow seen today and a Sparrowhawk zoomed past the house , keeping low.
The walk was a disappointing breezy affair with the wind on the increase throughout.
The usual Jackdaws were along by the farms and 6 Herring Gulls were airborne near here, One or two calling.
An hour or so garden sky watch had 2 mega distant Raptor sp. over Oats Royd at different times - both refusing to come nearer.
One probably a Kestrel, the other maybe a Sparrowhawk.
Other than the Raptors just a couple of Gulls and Woodpigeon were seen with the usual Crows over Oats Royd.
