We enjoyed an hours walk around Norland Moor this afternoon.
The usual moorland birds were augmented by quite a few Redpoll which was a great surprize.
Thanks go to the Calderdale Grapevine team for their help with confirming that my awful Redpoll pic. was an actual Redpoll and my video recording was not Siskin as I though but again Redpoll.
The birds will be Lesser Redpoll and judging from the calls and songs from the small trees, I'd say there were in excess of 10 birds here.
They landed in a tree above me and try as I might I could not locate a perched bird to photograph - they were seen when the left the tree.
Birds:-
Lesser Redpoll, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Willow Warbler, Reed Bunting, Linnet.
Kestrel.
