Hag Lane - Swalesmoor

A very windy day today so I had a short drive out along Swalesmoor Road to walk along Hag Lane.

This is a good sheltered place to walk when the strong wind (and rain) is coming from the west.

Just a rogue shower or two to contend with this afternoon but birds , understandably, were few and far between.

Encouraged by the apathetic response to my humour yesterday I have another famous saying to relate:-

Rumour had it that the Bishop of Lesotho was joining forces with the South African railways to create a new railway line - an odd partnership?

but...

It takes Tutu to Tonga.

Birds:-

Jay, Nuthatch, Bullfinch.

1 Mistle Thrush over.

At least 2 Buzzard high east, way over Shibden Valley between Queensbury and Northowram.

A slight detour up to the very windy field tops had a Skylark bubbling past low over the grass - which was a surprise in October?

A Sparrowhawk was seen over Oats Royd- before Abigail dragged me indoors and beat me at 'Pick up two' a card game, that I don't know the proper name for.

Just 85 days to go

Seen from the garden over Oats Royd:-
