A Tick at last - Raggalds etc and Coach Road Lightcliffe

A stroll to look at the fast disappearing Raggalds Flood this morning was followed by a walk up Percy Rd and down Taylor Lane to home.

A pleasant outing in the sunshine.

After lunch I had a drive down to Lightcliffe and walked down Coach Road then left past Sefton Avenue to check out the trees there for Brambling.

On my way back up Coach Road I took a very fortuitous detour along the good path above the Golf Course.

There are many berry bushes and trees here and after sometime checking out the Bullfinch I thought I had a Brambling but it vamoosed before I could make sure it wasn't a Chaffinch.

A bit later I did get a bit better view and a poor photo of a Brambling.

I don't see many Brambling so I was well chuffed.

Birds:-

Raggalds Flood etc.

Just the usual small Gull contingent although, checking the photos tonight, one Gull looks 'out of place'.

The  eye and the bill look a bit Med Hull-ish but the photo could be distorting the image and it's probably a Black Headed -see photos.

Too much black in primary feathers I guess!!

3 Stock Dove, 3 Pied Wagtail, Kestrel, Pheasant and 3 Meadow Pipit along the walk.

Coach Road:

Very, very quiet today.

Brambling.

2 Nuthatch, 6 Long Tailed Tit.

1 Great Spotted Woodpecker (Heard).

5 Bullfinch feeding in a Rowan Tree - but there were probably a lot more going by their quiet call.

15 Goldfinch, Chaffinch, 10+  Blackbird.

(A few photies need more looking at)
