Local Outing and Xmas Blues

A busy morning where I managed to find a store that is  even worse than my dreaded Colne Boundary Stores - Impossible! I hear you say - nay, nay 'tis true and it goes by the name of Tong Garden Centre.

The place was packed to the gunnels with shoppers enjoying the massive Christmas stuff - as if - it's still November.

After lunch we enjoyed the cold but beautiful sunny weather with a walk around the local lanes taking in a bit of Soil Hill main track and a bit  of Ned Hill Track.

Lovely crisp walking weather but very, very few birds about.

Only bird worth a mention was a Kestrel seen along Taylor Lane.

A cold hour sat in the garden, late pm, trying to improve my birding day , did bring a moment of joy when 4 Mistle Thrush landed in the opposite trees and one began to sing.

It did not sound like a Christmas song either, which was a bonus.

I can get "Mirthless Hut" out of Mistle Thrush, perhaps with all this moaning a Mirthless Hut is  where I should reside.

Short but sweet.
It did do some longer burst of song
that I failed to capture on video.
