Oxenhope to Haworth and Back (Med Gull)

We enjoyed a walk along the small stream from Oxenhope station to Haworth and back this afternoon. (It was Steam Gala day apparently).

It was windy again at home but down in the valley, here, it was calm and very pleasant, the usual muddy path had dried out nicely.

Birds:-

2 Dipper.

A Male Goosander sailing along the small stream, was an unusual sight for here.

Wren.

A Kestrel was on a line near the salt pile.

In excess of 20 Curlew , some Starlings and Lapwing were in the fields west of the old salt pile.

A Heron over Bradshaw Lane seen on our way back from Aldi earlier.

A Green Woodpecker was calling at 7:30 am this morning as I was getting out of bed,

A Green Woodpecker was calling at 17:30 pm as I was cleaning me boots.

Med Gull:

On the spur of the moment we had a short detour on our way back from Haworth to check on B.S's Mediterranean Gull reported this afternoon on Wellheads Road.

(Originally found by MP).

It was after 4pm and I though I would be too late with the Gulls heading off by then.

As I got out of the car near the  Ring O Bells pub 8 or so Black Headed Gulls immediately took off and landed behind a wall in another field.

I had a walk along  Wellheads Road and as soon as they saw me they took off again and disappeared over the hill.

I took a photo of the birds in flight but I don't think I got the Med. Gull?

When I got home at 5pm ish I texted BS to congratulate him on his find, and to tell him that I'd not found the Med Gull , and he said it was still there 15 minutes ago!

Checking the photos, later, it looks like I got it! See below.

Gulls on Wellheads Road -  up up and away.
A Good contender for Med Gull is probably the one nearest the centre above.
