A wet outing late afternoon today, to Ogden Water - at least the wet weather had kept the visitors to a minimum with a free parking space in the lower car park.
80% Rain, 20% dull murky stuff as I did a circuit (almost) of the water leaving it to look for the 2 recent 'specials' neither of which I heard or saw.
Still, lots of bird song even in this lousy weather - cold for June (again).
Birds:-
Redshank.
c20 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Black Headed Gull.
1 Herring Gull that might have been a Yellow Legged version but the photo reveals too much white in the wing mirrors probably.
Great Crested Grebe.
3 Tufted Duck (2 Drakes).
Very yellow Grey Wagtail.
Curlew flew over, calling.
Mallard with 2 ducklings.
Blackcap / Willow Warbler / Chiffchaff singing.
Heron (maybe 2).
Lots of Robin and Blackbird and a few other sp.
Always good to get any Wader here!
