Thornton Cycle Track / Bradshaw Fields

The nights are drawing in early now that the clocks have gone back.

It's dark around 5pm now.

Thornton Cycle Track.

A breezy , mild cloudy morning and our usual exercise walk along the Thornton cycle track to the Queensbury tunnel and back.

Many, many dogs about today with owners in tow.

Birds:-

1 Sparrowhawk mobbed by 2 crows.

15 Fieldfare > S

1 Great Spotted Woodpecker.

5 Mistle Thrush.

Long Tailed Tit.

Bullfinch and a few others.

The Raggalds NOT flood held one Lapwing as we went past in the car.

Bradshaw Fields:-

Bright and breezy with some good timing on my part, missing the rain.

I could not locate either Little Owl today.

The wind had a bit of east in it which would move the Owl(s) from their normal sheltered wall.

Birds:-

A Kestrel (or maybe two) was/were seen several times.

12 or so Common Gulls in distant fields.

The usual Crow family members.(No Raven)

Top of the Shop, though, were 2 Stonechat spotted on my return to "Carpet Mick's" house.

One birds was doing a sky dance.

A good bird for here and a very pleasing change from the usual.
