Bingley St. Ives

A walk with friends this morning around Bingley St. Ives with the obligatory stop at the close by, Stephen Smith's cafĂ© at Harden.

It was raining at home when we set off but it remained dry, just, along the walk.

A very dark outing but amazingly sheltered from the wind for the most part.

Birds:-

Not a birding outing but a few birds were seen / heard.

Kestrel calling - high pitched. (possibly 2).

Nuthatch were very vocal and heard / seen throughout the walk - c6 birds.

2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers (1 seen , 1 Heard).

13 Goosander on the Coppice pond.

6 Mute Swan with the usual Mallard and Black Headed Gull.

Seen on the way there from the car:

A small flock of Fieldfare > W below Soil Hill.

4 Ducks overhead, looked to be landing on Soil Hill -  Chances are that they are Mallard or

more likely unrecognizable from the photo!!

Ducks over Soil Hill above.
