Bradshaw Fields and Bradshaw to Holdsworth (and back)

A beaut. of a day weather wise today.

I enjoyed an hour's birding up the local fields this morning while Abi got her act together.

Abi wanted to play 'rugby' 🏉 in Holmfield park late morning.

Rugby, apparently, involves a lot of running about with odd shaped balls - not easy when you are my age and wearing waterproof trousers -

probably not easy, full stop.

After some 'rugby' Abi decided that she had got enough mud on her and opted to change to football  thank goodness.

This was a lot 'easier' - not.

After a late lunch, Sue took Abi to the Club Lane trampoline place while I had a birding walk, to get my breath back,  down to Holdsworth and back.

Some enjoyable exercise in the sun and a few birds about today.

The Oxygen Tent arrives tomorrow -  Amazon Prime you are a life saver 💀or am I too far gone?

Birds:-

Bradshaw Fields:

2 Little Owl.

A 'strong' winged Sparrowhawk mobbed by Crows, is probably a Sparrowhawk!

Kestrel.

2 Partridge species flushed on quiet wings (no call) that I though I got a photo of - I did manage to capture them but they blend in with a wall which was unfortunate.

They definitely look 'grey' but whether  they are Grey Partridge I would not like to say.

Wren and 4 or so Meadow Pipit.

Bradshaw to Holdsworth and back:

This walk always promises more than it delivers (A bit like my 'Rugby').

Heron.

Goldfinch, Greenfinch.

1 or possibly 2 Kestrel.

1 Common and 1 Black Headed Gull in the fields.

1 Herring Gull airborne.

8 Magpie.

ONE Mistle Thrush in a berry tree near Holdsworth House.

and a few others..

Nothing much seen from the garden, 3 potential mega ticks morphed into Gulls when I look closely at the photo on the laptop.

A 'Ring Ouzel' in a tree opposite the garden turned out to be a Blackbird with a strategically  placed leaf in front of it's breast.

Bradshaw Fields:

Bradshaw to Holdsworth:
