Sunny and cold again today, great walking weather.
Late morning I had a walk from home, through Crabtree Hall Farm to Ogden Water.
I did a slippery circuit of the ( partially frozen ) water, the ballet training from my youth coming in handy.
Good to chat with C.S. who actually praised my amazing footwork.
The west side path was very cold dark and grim but the east side was amazingly pleasant
After a late lunch I thought I 'd have a hike up and around Soil Hill, hoping AC's Snow Bunt. might have flown that way.
Just got back before dark at 15.50 ish.
Soil Hill top is frozen over, but there were odd bits where the frost had melted.
Nothing at all here on the deck, with quite a few Gulls > S as I looked W into the setting sun.
Birds:
Bradshaw Area:
2 Red Legged Partridge.
2 Mistle Thrush.
Little Owl.
Ogden Water:
Just 3 Teal seen on the east bank by me today.
The glare from the sun was chronic as I came along the east side, putting everything in dark shade, so some of the dark Mallard could well be "not" Mallard!
4 Canada Geese.
Robins galore.
Usual Gulls included a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
not much else seen really.
Soil Hill etc:
2 Mistle Thrush.
1 Kestrel.
A few Gulls and Crows above Ned Hill Track looked to have found some bread.
It was nearly dark and a LBJ that was flitting about in the plants a the edge of Taylor Lane became a Stonechat, which was a very nice bonus.
It was so close I could nearly touch it and it was nearly to close to focus on it.
