We took Sue's "Old Boss" to the Golden Hind Fish shop for lunch today.
I had a small Starter, Fish Salad, Small Pudding, Coffee (Bread and Butter optional at no extra cost) for £9.50.
Excellent value and the fish here are always great.
Afterwards I had a few hours walk around Brookfoot LNR.
It was pretty foggy at home when we left this morning but the weather improved at Brighouse.
Still dark and drizzly but a lot better than of late.
The riverside path from the fishing lake area is a tad muddy though!!
My first 'decent' birding outing of 2023, although one bird did not appreciate my efforts as it left a 'message' for me down the car door handle - yuk.
Top of the shop was the sighting of 2 Goldeneye Ducks on the ski lake, seen through the railings.
They were with 7 distant Tufted Duck and they were constantly diving.
Not easy to get a decent photo here today.
I was disappointed not to see a Kingfisher, but as I approached the car, a sharp call caught my lug hole and I manged to eyeball a Kingfisher in the bushes - nice.
Birds:-
Herring Gull, Common Gull, Black Headed Gull.
10 Cormorant, 2 Goldeneye Ducks, Heron.
6 Goosander, 3 Goldcrest, 5 Mute Swan,
Jay, Kingfisher, Bullfinch, 7 Tufted Duck.
Long Tailed Tit, 2 Moorhen, c25 Mallard.
and a few others.
