White Windows (Sowerby Bridge) / Local Fields

We took Emma to Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield this morning to see an MS consultant.

Quite a time consuming exercise - late afternoon by the time we got home.

Not much birding time but I did have a 5 minute nosy about at White Windows and a late saunter up the local fields, hoping for a 'Big' Owl but no luck.

My short lived pop master bubble burst today with a score of 3!! - back to normal.

Birds:-

White Windows:-

Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Redwing.

Nuthatch.

A possible Brambling but most prob. a Chaffinch - see poor photo.

Local Fields:-

Little Owl.

2 Mistle Thrush.

Common Gulls (c30).

(Fox).

A Peregrine was seen elsewhere.

Seen on a building in Elland.
Probably a Pigeon?

2 photos above Chaffinch??
Or Maybe Brambling!!
or maybe just a lousy photograph.

  2. Thanls David. Ive seen plenty of Brambling , It's somehow more difficult to be sure of ID when it's your own bird rather than someone elses!
