Sue took Abi and her pal home this aft via Adrenaline Trampoline Park. I had a free pass and set off towards Ogden through the fields.
My field path had a herd of "heifers" on it and having nearly been wiped out with our Labrador by some blonde Aquitaine cattle a few years back I am super careful of cows now.
I headed back and opted for the Percy Road route to Ogden instead.
Just as I turned back a grapevine txt alerted me of a Shoveler and Wigeon Duck found on Ogden by NK - nice ones Nigel.
So another Ogden twitch for me.
I 'm turning into NK's batman (not the one who wears his undies outside of his kegs though).
Quite a cold wind on the hill top and Geoff H. stopped his limo to chat as I reached the white cottage above Ned Hill.
After a chinwag I scrounged my second lift in as many days, down to Ogden - cheers Geoff.
I did locate the Shoveler Duck and managed a few "ish" photos with the sun awkward.
The eclipse Wigeon was another matter though.
A possible candidate was seen in the bins way off on the opposite (west) side, but when I got over there I could not relocate this bird.
There were many Mallards and I did spend a long time searching through them. Nearest I came to a Wigeon was a Duck with a blueish coloured bill (not sure if this is diagnostic - but with the myriad of Mallard hybrids I guess not - this Duck did not look like a Wigeon to me)
So that's one I can look out for next Ogden trip.
Birds:-
Shoveler.
23 Canada Geese & 2 Buzzards over the house a.m. 1 over p.m. and one over Bradshaw Lane on the walk.
2 Kestrel together and a Kestrel mobbed by a Crow Type.
Little Owl as I walked uphill to Taylor Lane.
c25 Gulls on Ogden included c10 LBBG and a couple of Common Gulls).
Kestrel over Ned Hill.
Little Owl on Bradshaw Lane (probably earlier bird moved over a bit).
3 Swallow and a few others.
