Garden, Hollingworth Lake , Soyland

Abi with us today, but these teenage girls seem to need an excessive amount of sleep!

Yesterday, we had agreed on a trip out to Hollingworth Lake, and eventually we got there!

In between times I received a grapevine WhatsApp from DJB on Soil Hill alerting me to Pink Footed Geese > West.

Theses were soon picked up by M.M. from Holmfield.

Some Mr Magooing at the distant dark clouds paid rewards with the Pinkies way South of me heading towards Hebden Bridge ish.

I pointed the camera at them but could not get them in the EVF at that distance.

At Hollingworth lake I (and several others) had a long fight with the 2 parking machines which were supposedly cash or card.

I managed to squeeze three quid into one eventually.

The 1st one had  told me that it was "connecting" my card.

After many minutes minutes it was still "connecting" so I assumed it must have now connected , but, when I took my card out it reported "card removed too soon".

I just cannot wait for AI to take over the world ,  sometime in the next 100 years.

The Beech Inn was unusually poor, a long wait and the carvery veg was not great.

Another long wait for a coffee and a bun.

By the time I got the bins and camera in action it was approaching 3pm.

I said yesterday that I would find something more to moan about so there!

We called at Soyland on our way home.

Birds:-

Garden:

c70 Pink Footed Geese.

Hollingworth Lake:

(Some of 'em).

Black Headed Gull, Common Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull.

Herring Gull and a few problem Gulls (for me anyway).

Canada Geese.

C150 Lapwing very very mobile.

2 Great Crested Grebe.

c6 Cormorant.

3 Goosander.

Pied Wagtail.

Kingfisher.

Mute Swan.

Soyland.

Barn Owl flew past our car - my photo of it is pants.

Riddle:

Harry and Jack were playing chess.

They played 5 games each and won the same number of games.

There were no draws or stalemates, so how could this have happened.

My "Van Goff" artwork with Abi last night.
A pretty good emoji candidate?

Some Gulls below:-
I'm a bit confused with the Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
Some have Yellow Legs and some more light coloured legs.
When I get some time this evening.
I need to check them out.
They are all Lesser Black-backed Gulls
of different ages.

Presumably A Lesser.

Riddle Answer:-

They were not playing each other.

These riddles are getting better each day - aren't they just.
