We had a busy morning with Abi visiting a "few" shops in Halifax.
I escaped this afternoon, though, and I enjoyed a walk around Ogden Water and home via a windy and cool Ned Hill & Percy Road then Taylor Lane.
It was good to have a chat and a laugh with JS and DJS who I bumped into along the circuit.
Birds:-
Not a bad outing really, with a few bits keeping the interest going.
C20 Small Gulls on the water at one point - probably 50/50 Common and Black Headed.
2 Canada Geese.
2 Buzzard.(1 Over visitors centre, 1 over Syke Lane Top > Ogden.).
2 Raven.
Bullfinch, Goldcrest, Goldfinch, Wren.
Barn Owl.
Pheasant.
Little Owl seen from Taylor Lane.
A very distant aggressive bird that I though was a Raptor at the time , dashed into a tree and perched as I went along Syke Lane.
So distant that the photo is very poor.
Pretty sure the bird in the photo is a Fieldfare which is a tad disappointing!
A very large Gull seen as I looked SE from Perseverance Road a bit of a beast.
Hoping it might be a Great Black-backed Gull but it's too light coloured?
Again , the photo at the vast distance is very poor alas.
