A hot afternoon and after we had had a walk this a.m. along the Thornton cycle track I decided to give soil hill a go this aft, actually venturing to the bottom of the north slope but no further!
In Shirt sleeves this aft and when the sky turned dead black as I came up the north slope, I headed home, leaving out Ned Hill Track. (Soft sod what I am). Anyway got home dry.
(Abi is making burgers for tea - a first - watch this space!).
A long stand at the bottom of the north slope eventually turned up a few bits but nothing much new.
2 Swift calling and seen over the hill were a yearly tick.
A Warbler calling with a call that I could not ID was in a tree with what I think is a Chiffchaff - anyway the call wasn't Chiffchaff!
Eight Swallow together over the house as I was writing this in the garden was lovely to see.
Birds:-
Bradshaw Soil Hill.
3 Buzzard. 12 Swallow (4 + 8). 1 Chaffinch. 3 Stock Dove.
4 Linnet. 1 Mistle Thrush. 4 Meadow Pipit (1 flew from one tree to another tree).

4 Whitethroat. Mallard.
Chiffchaff. Little Owl.
Thornton Cycle Track.

(25 Lesser Black-backed Gull were in a field south of the Raggalds as I was passing yesterday a.m.).
