G.R.E.Y.

A very dull grey cold day today with intermittent light rain this aft.

Some of the misty stuff had thinned out a bit as I walked along the sodden path to Ned Hill Road bottom and back.

I need some new wellies my Green Dunlop's with a fancy red rope thingy on top have sprung a leak.

Trouble is I find it hard to spend a lot on Wellies ( These were £49.50, cheap apparently in October 2023) - so it looks like I'll have to fork out £100 or so for some that might last a bit longer.

Anyway - enough moaning - well maybe not.

Just after lunch a Sparrowhawk landed on the building opposite our house and stayed just long enough for me to get its mug shot.

I am not keen on Sparrowhawks.

I get so few garden birds that I don't want a murdered in the garden reducing their number!

The walk was as per usual with no new arrivals as yet, although I scanned the fields for ages trying to eek out a Wader!

Birds:-

Sparrowhawk.

15 Common Gull.

10 Herring Gulls.

2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

15 Rook.

Two Little Owl.

4 Stock Dove.

Heron over head.

2 Drake Mallard.

And.... a few other species.
