On The Buses - Todmorden to Hebden Bridge Canal Walk

Palindrome day 5/2/25.....

A good few bus rides today:-

Bradshaw - Halifax.

Halifax - Todmorden.

Hebden Bridge - Cross Roads.

Cross Roads - Bradshaw Church.

The bakery at Todmorden has now closed down so we had to improvise for our elevenses.

Lidl have extensive bakery goodies in many glass fronted display cabinets, so today we sampled them, opting for a 99p pizza slice each, which we ate as we walked along the canal to Hebden Bridge.

To top up our dwindling calories ( as if!! ) we popped into a cafe in the square at Hebden, popped a bun into the old gob-et, and swilled it down with a freshly ground artisan coffee (whatever that is) before legging it to the bus stop.

Our bus connections worked quite well today with no really long waits between buses.

It would be pretty useless for me and Sue to go on rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach when we are holding on for grim death, as our B3 bus hurtled down off the moor into Oxenhope riding on its brakes!

Birds were few today and just a small camera with me but I did get an addition to my 2025 Calderdale list with a Grey Wagtail picked out by Sue hiding under the river banking.

(Sue does a lot of hiding).

A 'huge' contingent of Gulls were seen , in fields, from the 502 bus as it passed  above Cullingworth.

Birds:-

Todmorden to Hebden Bridge.

Drake Goosander.

Canada Geese. Mallards.

Singing Song Thrush.

Pied Wagtail.

Grey Wagtail.

Dipper.

2 Cormorant.

Bradshaw Church to Home.

Little Owl calling.

Small Gulls.

Gulls Cullingworth.

Gulls Bradshaw Fields.
