The 5 Bus Kids

A much, much improved day, weatherwise today with some sunshine, no rain and a lot less wind.

We caught the 9:30, 526 , bus to Halifax and arrived smack on time to catch the Hebden Bridge bus.

A short nosy about at Hebden Bridge then we walked along the canal to Mytholmroyd and enjoyed lunch (a Toasted Currant Teacake and a coffee -  belly reducing stuff!).

On again to Luddenden Foot where we caught the bus back to Hebden Bridge to catch the K3 towards Keighley, nicely linking up with the 502  Halifax Bus(Bus Number 5)  at Cross Road to take up to Bradshaw Church and a short walk home.

An enjoyable outing after a really rubbish week weatherwise.

Late afternoon I did my bog hop up the local fields.

Looks like a write off tomorrow depending upon the timing of the storm.

Birds:

Hebden Bridge - Luddendenfoot.

(Just a small camera with me on the walk).

3 Pairs of Goosander on the river by Hebden Bridge Park.

Pair of Grey Wagtail.

1 Barnacle Goose. (looks to be pairing up with a Canada Goose).

According to my Helm Wildfowl book.
What a Barnacle x Canada Goose might look like.

Being a bit of a saddo I counted all the Canada Geese encountered on the walk and arrived at a total of 174.

4 separate Heron were perched high on 4 nests at Brearley.

(Three in one tree and one in a second tree).

Local Fields:

Little Owl.

3 Stock Dove.

2 Drake Mallard.

c30 Gulls in the fields.
