Ringstone Reservoir Barkisland

I squeezed a rare (of late) outing to Ringstone Reservoir following a visit "nearby" to Elland late morning.

The highlight of "a poor show" was a warm chicken curry pie , for lunch, from Barkisland Post Office eaten in the car.

Another hot day but with a cool breeze across the water where I kept my woolly on - soft sod what I am.

Lots and lots of flies.

Birds:

(Swift heard at Elland).

(A Buzzard over the house late evening).

Ringstone:

Pair Great Crested Grebe.

1 Lesser Black-backed Gull on the water.

4 (1f) Tufted Duck.

Skylark.

Meadow Pipit.

Whitethroat (heard).

Pheasant.

c10 Greenfinch.

Willow Warbler.

Pied Wagtail.

Swallow.

The farmer was cutting the grass in the massive field, west of the reservoir.
