Sue had a visit from her good friend Geraldine this morning so I sloped away to Ogden.
A cold wind greeting me as I left the house with some light drizzle.
The bottom car park at Ogden was full to busting, and I won't park higher up because of potential car theft... so I went back out again and drove up the road to park opposite Coal Lane and walked to Ogden Water via the 'conifers track'.
The weather here was dull with a bit of drizzle.
Late morning and school holidays are not the ideal times to visit Ogden but it was good to get some fresh air.
The water is the lowest that I came remember.
The volunteers were cutting back overgrowth along the circuit, doing a fine job.
Birds:-
Very Paul Daniels-esque, You'll like this but not a lot!
13 Swallow.
1 Swift.
c100 Gulls:-
Herring Gull, Black Headed Gull, Common Gull and Lesser Black-backed Gull were present.
A small flock of Goldfinch.
5 Cormorant.
Heron.
Greenfinch.
Chaffinch.
Goldcrest.
Mallard.
A Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch and Buzzard were all heard by me but not seen.
A Treecreeper and Yellow Legged Gull were reported by my Merlin app.
I doubt the Yellow Legged Gull can be relied on as accurate though.
