A very early dentist appointment meant shifting some snow so I could get my car onto Bradshaw Lane safely.
Afterwards I donned my (leaking!) wellies and set off across the snow fields to Ogden.
Pat & Steve were on duty at the visitors centre, which was a nice bonus , because when the snow comes the visitors centre is often closed.
So my Twix and coffee were just the job to warm me up this morning.
After a circuit of the water I trudged up Ned Hill Road and over a frozen, windy soil hill summit before going down Taylor Lane home.
There is one good thing to be said about the steep Ned Hill Road - you aint cold when you get to the top of it.
Quite an enjoyable outing and just think of all that money I've saved with no heating on for a good part of the day.
Birds:-
Not Many!
Bradshaw.
6 Common Gulls.
A sub-adult large very dark Gull, Black Legs throwing me a bit (plus it's a Gull!).
(legs probably covered in mud).
Ogden.
6 Common and 6 Black Headed Gull at one point.
Mallards.
3 Bullfinch in the same tree.
Raven overhead.
A Kingfisher flushed from the NW bushes and flew low, over the water, obscured by bushes - east.
I spent the rest of the circuit checking the waterside bushes, but I did not relocate it.
After that it was all downhill but uphill if you get my 'drift'.
Just a Common Gull in flight over Soil Hill summit.
A Kestrel was on the a wall near the mast field ruin.
Not a lot else.
Ok - this white stuff is very pretty - but can whoever sent it, take in back now please.
Something will turn up .....
