Raggalds
Flood
Thanks to a txt yesterday from BS I made the walk
up to the Raggalds looking for Wheatear and managed to get a pic. of a Wheatear
from a distance (cheers Bri.).
Also
present c150 Starling, Pr Lapwing.
Dark
Satanic Hill
A grim afternoon on the hill dull, damp and cold.
A walk over the hill revealed 3 Lapwing mobbing
crows with a further Lapwing feeding in the ‘ruin’ field. The poor weather kept
the Skylark on the deck (only spotted a couple) with also a couple of Meadow
Pipit.
Whilst on the West facing footpath c30 unid . flew
North in a long row, slightly smaller than Woodpigeon with a sharp relief and
very fast wing beat. They were not calling. They circled SH and left towards
Queensbury Church. Trying to think
of a pun here – best I can do is ‘Godwit’.
Salterhebble
to Elland.
Earlier we had a stroll on the canal from Salterhebble
to Elland.
Birds spotted:
Jay, Grey Heron, Grey Wagtail 4: Chiffchaff 6:
Song Thrush: Mistle Thrush:Grey Wagtail: Dipper.
