Soil Hill’s Shy Birds

Soil Hill 9:00 – 10:00

After yesterday's report on BS's blog  I had an hour on SH this a.m. hoping for Wheatear.
Many a ‘tweet here’ but no ……..

On the top: Pied Wagtail: c10 Skylark: Solitary Lapwing in flight: 4 Starling: Meadow Pipit:

Oh and a new addition to the debris: Pink Petrol Can (lesser spotted).

Ogden 13:15 – 14:00.

Managed a quick tour this aft. before the rains came (well nearly).

Blue, Great, Long Tailed and Coal Tit on feeders.
Usual Robin, Wren , Chaffinch etc on the circuit.
My friendly Treecreeper made an appearance to allow me to get a better pic. than yesterday’s.

The water had the usual Canada and Mallard and a LBBG arrived with the rain. No other gull sp.

Soil Hill.

  1. Nice Treecreeper shot John, shame about the Wheatears but Spring birds move through quickly at this time of year, its all down to right place at right time.

  2. Thanks Brian.
Hope your day wasn't too traumatic.
I've learned something today. If you think the birds are waiting for you - think again. It's granddaughter for next few days but I hope to sneak out!
