I had a walk
at Ogden this morning with mainly Chaffinch, Robin and lots of rain for company.
Nothing
happening on the water just a family of Canada’s the usual Mallard population
with a single LBB Gull turning up later on.
Birds seen:-
Chiffchaff,
Willow Warbler, Dunnock, Loads of Chaffinch, Robin, Blackcap, Jay,
Carrion Crow
and a Coal Tit.
Even the
feeding area was deserted.
Taking the Bridleway, from the end of
the promenade, towards Withins and leaving by the small stile on the right after the Pine
trees there is some beautiful woodland. Its difficult to understand why there
is not more bird life - maybe I need a
visit to Specsavers.
Walked the track from prom to Withens a million times and never had a decent bird up there yet. As you say, the top fringe of the plantation is ideal habitat but useless for birds for some unknown reason.
