Bradshaw Area & Ogden – Common Scoter.

Breezy sun & the odd shower.

10:20  - 13:00 (ish)

Granddaughter day so I was strapped for time today.

Oats Royd pretty and also pretty dead.

Highlight was a Whitethroat sitting on a fence post just as I was leaving and several swallow sitting on the wall & fence looking for mummy to give them something to swallow.

Birds:-

Swallow total for the trip 22.
4 Meadow Pipit , Linnet, 2 Goldfinch, 9 Woodpigeon, 3 Moorhen on the ponds.
Ponds cleaned up a bit since the deluge yesterday.
Also Jay, Wren, Kestrel, 3 F Mallard, and the 3 stooges.
A trip past South Peat Pitts & then Cowhill Gate Lane had Swallow , Rook and not a lot else.
From Cowhill Gate Lane a text received from B.S. had me rushing off to Ogden to spot the 3 Common Scoter reported there. Cheers Bri.

Good job the text said “Common Scoter” I doubt if I’d have ID’d the 3 black dots in the centre of the water.

I had to rush off to meet ‘er in doors who was picking me up after 1pm play gym duty – sorry NK & DP for not stopping to chat.

After a trip to Sowerby Bridge to drop Emma off and a trip to Dewsbury to drop Abigail off and a blog - it must be time for tea.
