Black Edge Lane – Ogden – Bradshaw.

Sue dropped me off at Sandy Gallops (Black Edge Lane) , Denholme for a fair hike up past Thornton Moor Res. across the moor to Ogden and then home via Perseverance Road.

Over 40 Meadow Pipit seen during the hike.

On Black Edge Lane just Meadow Pipit and 8 Woodpigeon in the fields.

Lots of relaxing Mallard at the small pond opposite the reservoir house.

A Green Woodpecker heard calling in the valley once I had reached the turn towards TMR.

Lots of noise coming from the gulls on TMR and a few distant pictures taken here.

More than 20 Lapwing on the TMR shoreline.

On the bridleway to Ogden a couple of Kestrel and a couple of Red Grouse.
Nearing Ogden a GSW heard.
The leaves are now falling from the trees at Ogden, looks like autumn is here.

Ogden water quiet although I only walked down the east side path.
Usual inmates, Wren, Robin, Blue Tit, Great Tit. The resident GCG with just one Cormorant. BGH, Common Gull and a Grey Wagtail also spotted with a Jackdaw on the feeding table. C20 swallow feeding over the reservoir.

A stop at the Visitor Centre for some pop and crisps then a slog up Perseverance Road (just a Kestrel here) before heading down past the Ingham Lane Koi Carp farm bridleway to home.

Nice to have a chat with Daniel on his way to SH.
