Bingley Canal.

11:00

A very enjoyable four hour stroll today in lovely sunny weather along Bingley canal.

The autumn colours were in good form but the bird life was nothing to write home about.

To the west of the Five Rise Locks there is some interesting boggy terrain – looks like a candidate for Snipe – one to check out later.

Birds:-

Some unusual Hybrid ducks?

Mallard, BHG, Chaffinch, 3 Jay, 27 LTT, (9 in one bush).
Woodpigeon.
Wren, Robin, Jackdaw in large groups.
19 Greylag Goose, 10 Canada Goose.
Also many White Domesticated? Goose.
2 Pied Wagtail, Pheasant.
4 Mute Swan, 2 Cygnet.
7 Moorhen, 7 Goldfinch.
8 House Sparrow, Song Thrush.
A plentiful supply of Blackbird enjoying the plethora of berries.
and nearly back at the car a Nuthatch.

Today’s absolutely hilariously funny one liner (or is it two liner).

Please make sure you are not eating or drinking anything hot when you read this.

It will bust your guts - honest.

Here goes ……..1 … 2 …. 3

Miss Smith: “Johnny, If you have 100 marbles and I take 50% of them, what have I got?

Johnny: “A broken arm Miss Smith”.

Flipping ummer that is so, so funny I can hardly carry on with this blog.

I wonder if I have forgotten to take my pills today or is it all this extra sleep?

Ok -  the joke's crap - but that's what happens when you find a 1968 lucky bag down the back of the couch.

Today's Post (got that Simpson's look don't ya think?)

Elusive Jay

Some odd hybrid ducks?
This one with a few white feathers on it's back.

Looks like a cross between a Greylag and a Domesticated White Goose

Found this Gizmo on the path.

  1. Getting good with the LTT shots now John.
Nice area, my Great Grandmother used to live by the 5 rise, spent many happy hours there.
