For anyone wanting a nap please read on.
A walk through Bradshaw to Raggalds down Pit Lane and Low
Lane to Scholes and then on to the cycle track to Queensbury.
The weather wasn’t kind, very windy (SW) with frequents blustery
showers, making specs, bins and camera a tad wet.
The strong wind kept things quiet with just c20 BHG in
Bradshaw fields. C15 Carrion Crow on Low Lane fields one with white in its wing
feathers.
After the Junction pub not much about just 1 Meadow
Pipit!
A couple of Starling were hiding on the pylon with a LBBG going W and a
few BHG in the fields.
On the cycle track bridge a Chaffinch having a blow dry in a bush.
On the track a couple of Wren unhappy about something, a
Jay and a Robin. 5 Woodpigeon were struggling against the wind, keeping low on
the way towards Queensbury.
A detour to the tunnel entrance brightened things up. At
least here, in the shelter of the trees, there was some bird movement. Great Tit,
Blue Tit, a couple or three LTT, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Wren and the hightlight
of a mediocre outing, a F. Bullfinch.
A squirrel, pretending to be a Jay, gave me the run
around for 10 mins. Before I spotted it.
At the mouth of the tunnel (now blocked off like a scene
from Colditz ) the resident Grey Wagtail came to say hello.
Going up Station Road a Blackbird ,far off in a tree, making the most of the hawthorn berries, a couple of Common Gull with 4 BHG
in the fields also a shy Robin.
The weather watched us as we made our way home from the
play gym and then decided to improve – typical.
Still, as bad as the morning was, it was better than sitting watching ‘Frozen’
DVD like I’m doing now.
New Railway Tunnel Entrance
Looking back from the tunnel - lots of small birds in the bushes here.
The cycle track
Some berries but not many takers today.
Today's exciting post
