Many Pheasants about including this under a tree nr. the farm
(unless of course it's not a Pheasant)

Could not ID this Muscovy most prob.

Starlings overhead?

PONDEN:

An elusive Jay

Spot the Jay

Today's Post

A white duck? in with the Mallards

I though these were Redwing at first
but looking at the Photos now - struggling -I think they are Song Thrush.

  1. Well done with the pair of Shovelers for Leeming, great birds to get locally,I like the sunset picture you did well to spot them in poor light.

  2. Like the Sepia header.
    Great find on the Shoveler.
Good time of year to get rewards if you check the reservoirs regular.
Saw your feeding station on Soil Hill yesterday, a good do, just needs the seed on the deck instead of the stone. Twite and Snow Bunt will only feed from the gravel for digestion, they wont touch it off the ground. Keep up the good work.

  3. Cheers Bri.
I do put some under the rock - I'll lob it on the deck now!
Re: Twite. After seeing the Twite photos on calderdale blog I'm pretty sure I spotted 3 or 4 Twite feeding with some Redwing in the fields nr. Grey Horse Farm,Taylor Lane last winter.I did not have the camera then - hope history repears itself and I get a pic!
