Brookfoot Hillside.
I took Sue
to have a look at the Brighouse Christmas Market today while I had walk on the
Brookfoot hillside for an hour or two.
A lovely stroll
through the trees on a warm & sunny morning – couldn’t see the attraction
of the Christmas Market – Bah humbug.
Birds:
4
Woodpigeon, 4 Jay, 2 Coal Tit.
Long Tailed
Tit in good number flitting about 12+.
3 Wren,
Bullfinch, 2 Goldcrest.
The pair of Goldcrest were displaying with one,
presumably the male, fanning its tail feathers.
Thought I’d got a Firecrest but the
pictures confirmed Goldcrest alas.
Sparrowhawk
- the Sparrowhawk was darting through the trees at speed giving a Jay something
extra to shout about.
Canal.
12:20ish
Just time for a quick nosy around.
2 Coot, Grey
Heron, Moorhen.
A field full
of Canada Geese.
Pied Wagtail.
Called in at
Kens nr. Birdcage Lane on the way home.
Mistle
Thrush trying to protect a berry tree from marauding Blackbirds.
Pr. Nuthatch.
Lovely autumn footpath
I though this chap was a Firecrest until I examined the photo.
A good selection of birds John, I particularly like the Goldcrest showing their head plumage & also the Nuthatch.
ReplyDeleteCheers Danny - many thanks for the comment.
ReplyDeleteJohn
Goldcrest showing full breeding plumage crest there John, must be the mild weather.
ReplyDeleteThe pair seemed to be getting very excited.
ReplyDeleteThey are in for a shock when the colder weather comes later inthe week.
