Soil Hill / Ogden

After a hectic few days looking after the Granddaughter and a 94 year-old father-in-law birthday meal, it was nice to escape to Soil Hill now that the fog has finally gone.

A couple of Pied Wagtail seen on the way up Taylor Lane but just a single Meadow Pipit and a few Carrion Crow seen from the SH contour footpath.

C40 Lapwing seen feeding in the fields.

On the track opposite Coal Lane a large dark brown deer with a white rump made a fast getaway.

A couple of Jays were making a fuss in the plantation pines.

Ogden.

The water was very still and quiet but the place itself was alive with people.

3 Cormorant, Common Gull and BHG, and my first Canada Goose seen here for a while.

Coal, Blue & Great Tit, Jay.

15 or so Chaffinch feeding together in the trees.

A Little Grebe was being followed everywhere by a solitary BHG.
Robin, Woodpigeon.

On the way home via Taylor Lane & Bradshaw Park just Pied Wagtail, Wren, 12 Starling and 2 Goldfinch to report.

What can I say - better than watching tv.
