Soyland

I had a trip to Soyland  this afternoon to visit relatives.

Leaving the house 3 Mistle Thrush were perched on the farm roof with a Jackdaw with c50 Starlings in the trees opposite.

It’s beautiful countryside at Soyland but it was very quiet on the bird front (although I stuck mainly to the lanes).

I had a quick nosey around looking for Owl with no luck.

Birds:-

C20 BHG feeding with Jackdaw in the fields.
6 House Sparrow, Pheasant, Mallard, Jay, Robin, Chaffinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Blackbird.
Several groups of c20 Starling moving about.

Great Spotted Woodpecker .

I though this was a Blackbird when I took the photo
- not sure though

  2. 1/4 mile north of the Black Red sighting , so could have been.
(But no one is allowed to see a Black Red from their doorstep are they!)
I did not notice the bird this morning , only saw it on the photo at tea-time.
Thanks for the Redwing ID. My first this autumn .
